Our Campervan Hire Airlie Beach depot is conveniently located in the heart of Airlie Beach at Gypsy Travel:

Tropical Airlie Beach is a hub for world-renowned beauties such as The Whitsunday Islands, Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, which makes it a perfect place to base yourself while touring the Pacific Coast in your campervan!
The Whitsundays are a 74-island archipelago sheltered by the Great Barrier Reef, so there are no waves or dangerous undertows, just calm aqua waters that are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and sailing. Of all the stunning beaches and tucked-away bays, Whitehaven Beach stands out with its pure white silica sand.
To make the most of the region’s beauty, consider a sailing trip, dive tour, or helicopter flight. One-day ferry tickets allow you to island hop. You’ll be given a map and a timetable so you can explore at your own pace.
There is so much on offer here it is worth visiting the information centre.
Airlie Beach is almost entirely focused on tourism, so you’ll be spoilt for choice with shopping, wining, dining, and nightlife.
There are several good caravan parks in Airlie Beach where you can park your campervan and call it home; Island Gateway Holiday Park, Seabreeze Tourist Park, and BIG4 Airlie Cove Resort and Van Park. All provide full amenities, powered sites for your campervan, swimming pools, and reception offices that can help you plan your stay.

Point your campervan north and the Bruce Highway will take you passed Bowen where you can swim at sheltered Horseshoe Bay before stopping at Townsville. From here you can visit Magnetic Island (you can even take the campervan with you!) and other local attractions before continuing north, detouring through Paluma National Park. Park the campervan, catch a ferry, and spend a day hiking the unspoiled forests and beaches of Hinchinbrook Island. Back on the road, call in at pretty Mission Beach, ferry across to Dunk Island, tour through the wetlands of Eubenangee Swamp National Park in your campervan, hike and swim at Babinda Boulders before arriving in the relaxed city of Cairns.

Your campervan journey south to Brisbane on the coastal route will take you through the verdant sugar cane fields of Mackay to the beaches and wildlife of Cape Hillsborough National Park, the Capricorn Caves near the costal village of Yepoon and the picturesque town of 1770 where you can park your campervan and tour to pristine Lady Musgrave Island or Lady Elliot Island for some spectacular reef snorkeling and diving. The waters are crystal clear and the temperatures sublime. Dolphins, turtles, nesting birds, manta rays and humpback whales are common sights here. Watch turtles lay their eggs at Mon Repos beach near Bundaberg, or spot migrating whales at Hervey Bay.
At Rainbow Beach you can join a tour to world Heritage listed Fraser Island to enjoy wildlife, especially the island’s iconic dingoes, freshwater lakes, clear forest streams, sweeping beaches and rolling sand dunes. Your final leg takes you through the seemingly endless beaches of the Sunshine Coast including beautiful Noosa Beach and its sophisticated coastal town before arriving at the friendly city of Brisbane.
