From Townsville you can snorkel or dive the Great Barrier Reef, scuba dive shipwrecks, campervan out to hiking trails, or drive it onto the ferry to explore the history and turquoise bays of Magnetic Island. For a campervan day tour, visit the historic outback ghost town of Charters Towers, or drive north to enjoy the pristine beauty of Hinchinbrook Island. In Townsville you can kayak Ross River, visit the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium, wine and dine your way along Palmer St, try your luck at the casino, and stroll the beachfront promenade.
Campervan over to catch the sea breezes at Rowes Bay Caravan Park. The BIG4 Walkabout Palms is a little outside Townsville but is family friendly with a jumping pillow, play ground, resort style pool, pedal karts and a games room.
