Sandwiched between two world heritage listed areas, the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is famous for it natural beauty. It is also brimming with things to do. If you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, you’ll find it here. Many activities are self-guided or self-drive so you can see the region at your own pace and budget in your campervan.
Snorkel or dive the reef, sail to a tropical island, catch a fish for dinner, kayak, or laze on one of the northern beaches. Tour the Waterfall Way in your campervan or experience World Heritage Rainforest with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the artsy village of Kuranda.. Cuddle a koala, spot a crocodile, handle a snake, and feed the local critters in one of the many wildlife sanctuaries. Learn about aboriginal culture at Tjupukai, walk through the massive fan palm forest of the Daintree (another campervan day trip), and sample local exotic fruits on the way. If you’re game, you can even try sky diving, bungee jumping and white water rafting.
